Searching for Taino petroglyphs
This exploration begins with a morning drive along the east coast of Puerto Rico into the Rio Blanco Valley and up the south side of El Yunque rainforest. Of particular interest are petroglyphs carved into granite boulders by the Tainos during pre-Columbian times. Hike along a gentle trail in search of these mysterious artifacts as local guide Robin Phillips recounts native lore. Cross four rivers with waterfalls and pools, swim, picnic and snack on exotic fruit from Robin's rainforest farm. As the sun sets behind the mountains, return to Yuquiyu.
